This race to make thinner laptops has impacted even Lenovo’s enterprise-targeted ThinkPad line, with the 13.3″ ThinkPad X390 limited to 1 M.2 SSD, soldered down RAM, and a battery that may only get replaced should you unscrew the case. While the L480’s thickness allows room for all these ports, it also makes the laptop feel a bit dated. At 4.22 pounds for the notebook and charger, the additional weight is noticeable, though not uncomfortable; that and the shape factor most likely necessitates some type of backpack.
